Anyone riding this who is new to Sportives or inexperienced enough to want to form a group ? It's my second Sportive over this distaince and was wondering if anyone was looking to form a group to ride round ? I have to do 60 mile rather than 100 as I have time constraints but will be setting off around 8-45-9-00......post here and let me know

Hi Dave. I'm registered for the 60 too. I hope we get better weather than the folks who went up the Cat last w/e. No idea how many folks might be there but for info I'll be the bloke on the Monday's Child. Hope you have a good ride if I don't see you on the day, all the best.

I'm debating as a lot of the ride we visit on our Club Ride W/Ton Wheelers, so is there much to gain?

  • Brilliant day out capped by the glorious weather. Little hillier (especially at the end) than expected and WTF was that hill about 25 miles in ? Didn't see anyone ride up as there was no traction at the bottom and saw three folk come off trying to get up ! Very slippy and as soon as you stood up out went the bike.

I unclipped and walked (which killed). There was a guy infront of me who was a Sigma chap helping his mate out on the day and I was so pleased when he had to get off and walk as well.

All in all a great day out and be doing this one again next year
