Routes near Buckingham?
I have just moved from London to near Buckingham.
Are there any simple trails around the area that are worth visiting?
This is my first post for a year and also it wil be my first time back on the bike for many months. Not too many slopes please.

Hi Marc,
What sort of riding do you do is it XC , Downhill, or Dirt as the best places near Buckingham are Aston Hill or my Stomping ground Woburn Sands.
Chicksands is good but it's another 20-30 mins on from Milky Beans (MK).
Drop me a PM as the Goats go out on a Sunday morning for 2-3 hrs around Woburn and we'll be able to show you all the best and Secret trails....

The Chilterns has loads of stuff - and if you want to stay away from lots of hills for a while there's the Ridgeway/Icknield way from Princes Risborough along to Goring - it's a reasonable surface too.
Tons of bridleways etc round Buckingham - though a bit muddy at this time of year. MK also has a good network of bridleways and you can always bail out onto Redways
Harlestone Firs at Northampton is a network of trails - but you probably need someone to show you where they all are! (Hint - follow the link on my sig )
As previous poster said Woburn Sands and Aston also.
Cheers

Or if you don't mind a bit of a drive, head down to Swinley Forest at Bracknell. Make a day of it as there are LOTS of trails to explore.Blogging about junior road bikes http://junior-road-bikes.tumblr.com0

Whoops! I thought no-one had replied.
Thanks everyone. At the moment I am not fit enough for Swinley Forest (last year was okay, but I was a stone and a half lighter and riding the bike regularly)
Jim, many thanks and will come back when I have regained some legs. Ditto Pemsey, although the Ridgeway / Icknield way sounds promising soonish.
