Does anyone have a Garmin Edge 205? On the box and on numerous photos I've seen you can have an elevation profile of your course, but I've gone through all the data fields and can't figure out how to get it to display. Any help would be great.

I dont think the 205 does elavation. I had one and then changed to the 305 that does have altitude and so on.

  • I'm pretty sure the 205 doesn't have the elevation profile as it doesn't poses the barometric altimeter - think you need at least the 305 and above for that feature.

The cheeky swines! the picture on my box shows the elevation profile clearly on a 205 and check this link:

Well thanks for the clarification anyway, be aware of the Garmin products showing dodgy info!

Did you not think to read the spec, rather than look at the generic pictures!?

More interested in the mapping to be honest I've had it for three years and wanted to use the elevation profile as well. It's not essential but handy to have. Was pulling my hair trying to find it, you can see why I was confused if you check the link it clearly states it as feature.

Ah yes, ok I take it back. That seems to refer to a saved course though, does it not have it then? Rather than just on a normal ride.
  • the amazon pictures are of a 305 ... I have the 205 and no elevation

Nope does'nt have as a feature when you are out cycling. You could be right in the fact that once you've done the ride it may log your elevation profile but there does'nt seem much point to that. Thing is, it does give your elevation when your riding just not as a profile.

I've sent an email to Garmin hopefully just to clarify, could be I may just need to update some software.
