HI
First post: :D

I've got a 9 speed miche cassette hub with ambrosio rims. The cassette is now worn. I've got a new spare miche cassette but when i've come to slot them on to the hub the diameters are different - the new one has a smaller diameter than the original - very strange

Is it time to dump miche and go for aksium or where can i source/find out different miche cassette diameters

TIA

Andrew

Miche make their hubs and their cassettes in Shimano or Campagnolo splines.
Just swap the cassette for the other kind.

Note that Mavic make their hubs in either style as well.

Though it appears that you have a 9 speed hub, you might have a Campagnolo 8 speed pattern, in which case the new cassette won't fit. Photo would help.

Hi michael i have some spare campy cassettes (not new) which i give a try but it seems i have an odd hub. I might have tried this in the past

Hi Weejie all my cassettes have been nine speed. The diameter refers to the width of the hub - not the breadth/length of the axle - sorry its really difficult to explain - it not the usual 8,9,10 speed incompatibility problem

    cheers

I'm actually referring to the diameter of the hub. Campy 8 speed have shallower splines and 9 speed and up cassettes don't fit the hubs.

aye see what you mean -

can only assume its nine speed as seems like a factory built wheel

Got on to it last night and it seems that its an 9 speed hub with 8 speed dimensions (campy compatible). If you see what i mean

    Cheers
