Hi all. My first post here, please be gentle!

My company is starting the cycle to work scheme soon and I am thinking of getting a 2010 Genesis Equilibrium on it.

I've read this review - http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bikes/road/product/equilibrium-10-36088 and it's pretty positive. I was just wondering if anyone on here has any experience of the bike first hand.

I'm pretty sure I want a steel bike, it's for commuting mainly but will probably get used at weekends too. I have no plans to race or do any club rides on it.

My only concern is that it might be too flexy for me. As a former rugby player, who is pushing 16 stone I am just a bit worried that I might be too heavy to use the frame in anger, as it were??

Any advice much appreciated.

PS. If anyone knows of any shops doing ex demo's on this or similar don't be shy :)

i don't have one and i can't comment on how it rides or how flexi it is..

i don't know where in the country you are but Alpine bikes in glasgow are selling
    the 2010 - reynolds 520 - 105 spec sliver coloured model off for £899 - £100 saving.

i don't know what size/or sizes but you could give them ring.

failing that if you google the brand you might get a few shops closer to home
    selling it off.

Hi GD73, I'm about 6 foot 2, so would be going for a 60cm I think. I'm gonna call around my local bikeshops tommorow on my day off. I'm in NI, and there are a few dealers locally but was thinking/hoping that some shop somewhere might have an ex demo or something going silly cheap as I need to get plenty of accessories with it for winter.

15 stone, own Genesis 2008 Equilibrium, no flex superb bike to ride as it is fast and responsive and very comfortable..

Thanks Darren, that's good to know. I'll hopefully be test riding one soon to see for myself.

Cant see it being a problem but sometimes you get notions like that when your used to breaking stuff
