I'd heard rumours about this one but I bumped into the ranger in charge of the project at a trailbuilding session at Glentress and this one is for real, there's some brilliant plans afoot, trail design by Pete Laing already complete, red and blue plans on the board... So, before the nimbys get in lets get the silent majority talking

They're probably going to want diggers in the future, as well as riders but for now it's in consultation so a bit of support would go a long way, if people can drop into the hermitage and do the survey I'm sure it'll all help.

  • Has anyone heard anything more about this recently?

It keeps popping up in conversation with my mates. I've seen a selection of info online too. Possibly going to pop over there tomorrow to see what it's like.

I think it would be fantastic. It's crazy that there are so many 'official' trails within reach of Edinburgh but nothing within the reach of the city itself. Especially given the amount of hilly woodland around!

From a tourism point of view I think it should be widely supported.

I'd suggest contacting the rangers (not the pentland rangers, the edinburgh countryside rangers), Stacy Schumacher is the person in charge of it I think. I've not heard anything lately but last I heard both this and the corstorphine hill plans were going ahead
