Nice bike, Just to point out I think you have put the wrong part on the end of the rear crud mk2. Should cover the tyre more, if you ride in a group the people behind will not be happy :P

It's the right part but I used the older style one supplied. I find the new rear a little floppy, but might stick it on now I'm done fettling!

Sticking new tyres on, making sure the muguards are bang on, sticking helicopter tape on the frame/forks where the mudguards join etc.

I will try the new tail but it is a little floppy IMO.

Nice. You can't beat black white red
With rear Crud.. having seen it in full action this weekend from the business i.e. on someone's wheel... as much use as chocolate teaspoon.. flaps about too much to stop any spray off.
I think that is the right part on? If it isnt, a lot of people have them on wrong .

Worst thing was, it forced me off the wheel to go in front.
  • Aye, I stuck the new longer tail on my other bike today. It's just too long. It might work better but it's too long and flappy.

So I'm keeping the shorter (it is supplied as an alternative) one on there. It's better except for those behind.

And this is a commuter so those behind can just **** off :P

I am with you on this one.

I recently purchased the Crud MK2's. I chose the shorter rear section as well. The longer one was just too flappy!!

Nice bike too. I was very nearly tempted by a Focus when Wiggle had them on huge discount.
  • Mine was a) on a huge discount and b) on a bike 2 work scheme.

So it's a no brainer really!

  • My mate has one of these. Quite a harsh ride but ideal as a winter bike. The stiffness makes up for the weight and it's actually pretty quick
    Basso Astra
    Principia Ellipse SX
    Kinesis Racelight 4S
    Kinesis Crosslight Pro Disc
  • Aye, it's certainly stiff. And quick. Not as quick as my summer bike.

    But ideal for the winter.

  • Gonna take some new pics next week.

Changed it to 3T Ergosum bars and stem. Much better aesthetics at the front.

Reckon I've shaved around 500g off so far.

Seatpost and wheels are going to be done as well.
