Which you like better bike and why
I can't make my mind up and can only find cosmetic reasons but it has been a long while since I bought a bike and don't know loads about all the tech

Can you post links to the exact models? ALso what sort of riding will you be doing?0

I will mostly be commuting to and from work mostly on cycle paths but I live in Bristol and we are surrounded by hills and trails so I will of course be hitting them in my spare time, not pro style but whatever my bottle will let me get away with My favourite little trip it also along a riverside path and rather bumpy so a comfy ride would be nice.
Links both from same site for comparison but the Specialized sold out so the first link is fomr google cache without a pic so here is a pic too

I'd probably go with the c*ckhopper. Zero G in bedminster have a sale on btw but we got one with 20% off a lower spec one at the concept store on park street the other year which was a good buy.
Have you tried them both? Do that and you will probably decide straight away.0 -
-
Obviously you should sling a leg over both of them if possible - but you should get the Cannondale.
Why?
Because they kick @ss, innit.
2014 Giant Anthem 27.5 1
2014 Specialized Roubaix SL4 Disc0 -
I'd pick the cannondale, purely because i'm biased but any level headed person would surely pick......a boardman0
-
-
Boardmans are everywhere! Great spec for the money (pretty unbeatable really) but they come from the worst bike shop on the planet (which is the only downside) so aslong as you get it rebuilt/checked over by a qualified bike mechanic your laughing.0
-
Or arm yourself with a decent set of basic tools, pick up a bike maintenance book and check it over, helps knowing your bike if something goes wrong on the trail0
-
Id say the cannondale...iv got the 2010 SL2,..have upgraded most componants, but the frame is excellent,i tried the 2010 specialized at Park st,then went to Mud Dock(as you can see),and as soon i swung my leg over the cannondale i knew that was the one....both great bikes,i just prefered the SL2.....

Cheers for the replies guys Looking pretty even so far so think I should jump on them both as you suggest
Now you got me wanting to jump on one of these too! http://www.boardmanbikes.com/mtbht/ht_Pro.html0 -
The Dale over the Specialized any dayI'm not old I'm Retro0

Just rode the Specialized and it was nice although the one I rode didn't feel setup too well and pulling on the handle bars as I do at times made it squeek a bit.
I was still a little tempted but since I'm buying this on the cycle scheme and it was the last the bike shop told me I might not get it and have to choose another ride, they would not even take a deposit and I don't like any of their other bikes so would get shafted if they sold it.
This was only said after I asked for a discount as it had a scrape and was told I get no discount and have to pay the full price not the discounted price since it's last years model as the cycle scheme takes 10% off the shop! I see adding back the 10% but what about the damage?
Not going Black Boy Hill cycles again, so if they sell it now they will lose money as it will go for the discounted price and probably a few freebies for the scrape, as if I was paying cash I would not pay even the discounted price since it is damaged.
Looks like the Cannondale it is0 -

Who's running the mountain bike bit of Chelmer nowadays?
They were never the cheapest place in the world, but a great little shop and really top blokes - the number of times I'd take my latest bodged effort at fixing something in and they'd sort it out.0
