Scam or not?

I tried to buy this bike off gumtree a few weeks ago (Trek Madone) for around 600 (WARNING?!?! too good to be true). I got an email from him yesterday, saying that he moved to Italy, because of this he was prepared to send me the bike so to see if I like an it fits me well. But only if I agree to use an escrow company. Which was fine by me, I replied to his offer I suggested we use escrow.com as they are the trusted company that ebay uses.
He refuses as he wants me to use www.ets-europe.vze.com. I am very suspicious as I have never seen a site that finish with vze.com.
Do you think this is a scam? have any one used this escrow site before?

VZE is a URL redirection service, so the guy could be anywhere. Walk away...0
