Hi ,
I`m new here ,i bought a rockrider 6.3 a week ago, from decathlon, but on cleaning it today noticed a problem, one of the nuts holding the suspension to the frame is missing ,how serious is this? i am upset ,it cost 360. Should i ask for compensation? , or do i have the right to exchange the bike for another? there also seems to be a grinding noise when i put pressure on the pedal with my right foot going up a hill.... cant believe they sold it with a missing nut,i`ve only ridden it for 8 hrs.

There doesn't appear to be anything missing, that looks like there's a long bolt going through with the recessed hex head cap on the right hand side, you'll definitely notice of something is missing as you'll probably be crabbing up the street !0

Yeah take it back, they should give you (and fit) the bolt correctly.
The grinding noise may be down to the fact you're missing the bolt, but can't be sure without seeing it. Ask them to investigate the cause while they have it.0 -
Agree with Ryan, that looks about right, the RH cap is the nut, you can see it has a recess for an allen key which the LH side doesn't.0

Would expect a plug or something - that will fill up with gunk quicly.
Have you thought of giving them a call?I don't do smileys.

cheap cranks do lend to a lot of flex, i found that when i really stomped down with my old saracen with it's cheap suntour cranks.0

Amazing they can knock a bike out like that for the money. Frame looks better than an Orange 5 ;-)0

Hi
thanks for all your messages ,it put my mind at ease! i rang decathlon, they are a friendly bunch ,though the guy i spoke to wasnt that knowledgable, he did check the other 6.3`s in the store & confirmed that they all had the hole , & nothing was missing.
He also thought i should bring it in to sort the grinding sound.,i think i notice it more in higher gears,it also seems to be making creaking noises round the headset, they have the bikes already made on the shop floor, then they do a safety check before you buy them...i am impressed with the bike though,so much easier to go up hills even in medium gears.good acceleration & traction to.
My last bike was an ammaco oxygen it got stolen a few weeks ago,i dont think they`ll get much for it ! it was a cool looking bike though & had some sentimental value,

p.s thanks for the coment about the frame looking better than an orange 5 supersonic ! :P thats an expensive puppy!0 -
I can confirm all is present and correct with your rear linkage.
It is a new design on swingarm we are using for 2010 and its also a different pivot bolt. You have nothing to worry about and it wont drop off.
As said above the grinding noise is likely caused by flex from the bottom bracket shell/cranks (its your extreme power that does it )
If its not far to go to your local store then feel free to take the bike back for a check, it may just need the cable tension adjusting to sort it out.If Stockport is your local stor ethen feel free to pop in and I'll sort it for you (just ask for the workshop manager)0 -
hello
I had the same scare but you had not and I need to worry because she does not come with this bolt is still home
look tells me something else on your bike and made in Portugal?
Greetings
