Afternoon,
Strugglling to come up with anywhere new to ride in and around Yorkshire that will be fairly weather proof. Moors will be swampy, done Dalby, Gisburn, Hamsterley loads this year. Was hoping to go do Ladybower and Cut gate but we have put that back until next week. Whats the dales likely to be like? Any ideas guys.
Cheers in advance

Just for a moment there I thought I had posted on the Roadie Forum!. Not looking for a dry ride just somewhere which aint gonna end up with sand in my arse crack or stuck in bogs on the moors. I know Dales is a bit more stony so a bit more waterproof if you get my meaning.0

Plenty of routes in the N.Y. Moors that are weather friendly and still allow a good turn of speed even if it is or has been chucking it down.
Have a look on here for some possible suggestions:

did a ride in the dales last friday(pateley bridge),there was plenty of streams running across/down the trails and plenty of deep puddles as well, and rode in the peaks yesterday(monday) plenty of the same as above with mud thrown in as well,it will be hard not to get wet at some point on a ride now.im thinking of getting some mud guards for the first time in 11 years, but the point of going out and riding is to enjoy what ever gets thrown at you,so im still out on the verdict of mud guards myself :roll:0

The stuff around Reeth is weatherproof. It is mostly on stony tracks with only the odd bit of grassy stuff. The same can be said for the riding from Hawes although there is a bit of road.
Check out these websites.

The 'over the stake' route is pretty good in the wet despite the long tarmac section in the middle. The route can easily be started from Hawes and finished down cam high road (7km roman road with ~ 350m of descent)

A good reeth ride is the one called tour of swaledale on this website.
