Incredibly poor value, 250 lumens for that price is beyond a joke.

Not used the light you mention but I'm guessing '250' refers to the output which IMO is OK-ish for 10-12 mph on fire roads and bridleways in total darkness.

I have a Hope Vision 1 (250 alleged lumens) that I use for my non-technical ride home during early Autumn/Spring and it's OK just to throw on when it goes dark but it's not enough for technical stuff - not so much in terms of brightness it just doesn't have the spread.

I would also add that I don't think any light - no matter how bright - is enough on its own for MTBing at night. Two or more lights give much better perspective and depth.
  • thanks for the info guys.I'll have a good look around and see if theres anything better value for the money.

  • thanks north,

I should have had a look at the lights thread to start with. The magic shine light looks a pretty good option for the money and seems to get some good reviews.
