Congratulations. How much fun was it?
I wish I could have seen it but I was chewing my handlebars on the 100m sportive.0 -
The weather was horrid, it eased a bit just before the race though.
Cracking fun and I'm certainly going again next year
here's a clip of me binning someone right at the end

Well done sir!
Unfortunately my employers have denied me access to the clp so I'll have to wait til I'm home to see your awesomeness in action0 -

had to hit the brakes soon after the line so no hands in the air I'm afraid... I went somewhere quiet and suffered for a while, drinking lots of liquid. Then on to some taliskerPurveyor of sonic doom

Well done there. Good effort.
I'm still gutted at not doing the sportiv. I rolled up fully prepared for the 100 mile jobby but the seat post wouldn't lock into place, so I had to scratch - was back home by 9:30. Absolutely gutted, all the prep, effort, getting the entry in last December to make sure, and the anticipation of the whole thing, all was wasted, because some poxy component on the bike failed and stopped me doing it. Gaaa.0 -
haha wrong thread. hope no one saw that..
I watched a video someone made of the event. looked awesome despite the weather.0 -
Very cool. Excellent work.FCN 2-4.

Congratulations! That's a great time.
I did 25.48 for 50th place. Pleased with that as the time and position are better than last year's effort. Weather didn't help either - a bit slippery on the corner going into the big downhill...0 -

Yup, just taken my jacket to the dry cleaners.
Don't want to get all brompton geeky, but out of interest, did you have a 2-, 3- or 6-speed? I was on a 2-speed and could have done with a bigger gear at a few (downhill) points.
Didn't notice it this year, but last year there were a few "special" modifications, like flat bars on the short M model stem to give a really aero position.
Most memorably there was a guy with his breakfast all down the front of his bike.0 -
I was using the 3 with the increased gearing. I just think the 6 etc with the extra gearing just increases the chances of gearing issues.
One chap hadn't done his front handle bars up properly and came a cropper right in front of everyone near the start line. Didn't hurt himself though thankfully.
Also well done to the banana guy that must have been really hard workPurveyor of sonic doom

Filthy weather, slippy roads, but really great fun.
Slightly dissapointed to have been 22 seconds slower than my 2008 time (I missed last year due to collapsed lung), but the conditions were pretty bad and I do have a smaller lung now, so can't be too upset. Finished in 65th - compared to 64th in 2008 (with a smaller field).
Some really great outfits and bikes and people clearly having fun despite the weather. I liked the banana and all the Speckled Hen bikes.
Nice scone at the end too.
Can't wait until next year - hope the weather is slightly better though.
Just looking at the very dirty Brompton sat in the corner of the room that needs cleaning and returning to it's more mundane duties with the re-addition of mudguards, Marathons, rack and normal pedals.......grrrrrrr.....0 -

Well done! You beat me - I did 25:27 (41st place) but did have the consolation of being first lady.
I did it on my old steel 3-speed Brompton and feel smug not to have used clipless pedals. My new Brompton is, however, just asking to have its pedals changed, so things may be different for next year!
Absolutely love this event - always work harder here than in any race I do!World Brompton Champion 2010; new to time trialling in 2011.0 -

yacf got a podium position, though :P
Two of us were on medium-ratio three speeds homebrewed from bits of ancient Sturmey-Archer AM hubs. I wish I hadn't taken off the mudguards the previous weekend --
