A very wet Llandegla
coolboarder

Had my first blast at Llandegla Sunday. Was absolutely soaked from the relentless rain and deep puddles, but oh what fun There was 5 of us but me and my lad had never been before. The guys with us who have rode there before were dissapointed at the closed sections but me and my lad were none the wiser. So whats the crack with the closed sections. Are they going to be re opening soon? There was a closed boarded section off to the right with a ditch infront of it, is this a permanent closure?
We shal definitly be going back. Its a superb centre just a shame we had to wait 45mins for the gates to open. An early starters car park would be good imo. That way the trail would be eased of early congestion. Is 8.30 the normal car park opening time?
Thumbs up to every one involved there, we had a real good time and cant wait to return. Oh yeah, the cafe sells some lovely cakes
Rob.

It was a bit wet, and pretty busy - with some very large groups on Sunday
There is only one temp closed section at the mo, which is the first section of black (it's only a couple of min's your missing) I think they are just doing a bit of repair work. The other section that is closed off is the "new" blue/red route that has not opened yet, on your right as you go down the section called the rollercoaster.
The boarded section was closed off a few months ago due to "issues" with the forest owners over safety and I don't think it will ever re-open.______________________________________________

Is the red section after the Red/Blue split open? There was a diversion in place last Tuesday, and I have a feeling I missed the turn for the end of the diversion, so ended up cutting out 6km of the red route and most of the black. Pretty much followed the wide road from the split until the super steep climb.0

The bit that is temporarily closed is the first part of the red not black, you have to go down the access road and re-join it a few hundread meters later instead.

The red splits from the blue and you have to cross an access road, but it currently diverts you down the road for a few hundread meters where you take a left then a sharp right to get back on to the red run.Trek Fuel EX 8 (2010)0 -

Dohh!! Sorry red
I think he mean the log's (the bumpy logs on the red by the "canal / stream" ) when he said the "boarded" section in the first post, they have been cut down for a couple of months now.
Did anyone else notice a load of markings on the same section of red slightly further along - just after the downhill section before you go back into the forest? I hope they are NOT going to "repair" that section!______________________________________________

I've only been going for about 4 months, never know it to be open, always rode past and thought that looked like quite a slippery climb!Trek Fuel EX 8 (2010)0

Indeed i did. It was off to the right with a ditch infront of it and further on you can see the ending of it!
I havent a clue what section was closed and at what point. It was my first visit in awfull weather, i was having trouble seeing my front wheel lol, let alone take in the course route! But we will be back. Had a great time apart from the moment i so very nearly stacked it. Went over a jump, totaly screwed up my body position and did an endo. Ive never ever bottomed my forks before but i hung on some how to tell the tail 8)
Next time definitly will be going around again. Once wasnt really long enough.0 -

I was there Sunday too!
Like to say a big thank you to the group of lads pushing up 'big jims' I had planned to ride down at speed and enjoy myself, but the constand need to slow to walking pace to get past you all gave me an excellent oppotunity to take in the, well trees.
Nice place though! Despite what MBUK and the site tells you, the freeride section isn't open, it was covered in tape. Oh and the final red section which we loved last time out has gone to build the freeride.
had a great ride, looking forward to going back when the freeride section is finished and the new red section at the end is built. The Boys loved the Parallel Universe section, I'm till waiting for an op to remove the plate holding my elbow together so decided to wait till next time to ride it - doctors orders and all that.0 -
Big fan of Llandegla! Always great to get out there!0

Went there yesterday, they've re-opened the first part of the red now. There's a few hundread meters of new trail just to the right of the old one. Really nice and smooth!
Anyone know when they are opening that little run at the end?
The one to the left of the top car park (as your coming down), and go's round the back of the cafe? Like a freeride / 4x track?Trek Fuel EX 8 (2010)0 -

Luckily I saw it, with the rock in the middle I thought it would be a drop like in the skills area. Thats one thing they need more of at llandgla, drop-offs, even the decent ones on the black are in slow parts.
Anyone know about the freeride track that has just been built but not open yet? The Oneplanet website is never up to date!Trek Fuel EX 8 (2010)0 -

Looks like it could be the dual-slalom track. Didn't really get a good look at it as I'm usually too busy trying to make sure I don't ride over the tops of the 2 berms below it :P0 -
Heading Coed Brenin this Sat and Llandegla for the 1st time on sunday. Really glad to hear they're started reopening sections just in time!0
