Tarmac vs Caad9 / Allez and Tarmac geometry comparison

Hi I am about to buy a new bike.
Currently riding an Allez.
How might the geometry of the Tarmac compare?
Is it more aggressive?
I really like the look of the Caad9 are these going to be sold in 2011.
If so when?
Has anyone tried the Tarmac and Caad9 how might they compare?
(Components will be changed, only interested in frame characteristics)
Thanks!

No! The CAAD10 replaces it. Expect a £300 increase in price as well.CAAD9
Kona Jake the Snake
Merlin Malt 40 -
So is the Caad10 the new Caad9?
Has it got what it takes to replace the nine?0 -
The CAAD10 is an evolution of the CAAD9. As for whether it has what it takes to replace the nine, I'd be surprised if anyone on the forum has ridden one so who knows?0
-
It must be better. It stands to reason that 10 has got to be better than 9. Probably 11% better.
How else could they justify the price increase in the face of global economic meltdown?0 -
re the allez and the tarmac.
When I had a langster I loved it - it fitted me perfectly so for my new road bike (in early 2008) i looked for a frame of similar geometry - now at the time (disclaimer: all this info is for model year 2008/9 models)
the langster was the EXACT same geometry as an allez. Like an allez frame without the gear hanger!
The Tarmac had a 10mm shorter head tube but all other main sizes were the same (assuming like-for-like sizing - I am a 54)
and the roubaix was 10mm taller at the front end than the allez (again all other dimensions similar and size-for-size)
The tarmac with a couple of spacers will be, roughly speaking, the exact same fit as your allez!
(I went for the S-Works roubaix in the end - and often wonder if I should have got the tarmac!)0 -
I find it hard to believe that one of the best loved frames has come to the end of production.
Replaced, with a carbon frame that has yet to be proven.
So it looks like The Tarmac is a serious contender.
Trouble is I have all the parts I need.
I only need a frame.
What should I consider?
Budget £600 tops.0 -

What do you mean? The CAAD10 is still an alu frame.
Cannondale are not the only manufacturers to hike the prices this year. I'm not sure what extra you get for the £300. Not enough I suspect. The 2010 CAAD9 is a cracking frame anyway. Can I upgrade???0 -

Does this mean you will have stripped the used parts from you Allez and intend to mount this onto a new/used frame??
If you are lucky enough to get a good used Tarmac frameset for this money you will not be doing it much justice plonking on used/abused low spec goods onto it from your Allez.
What groupset do you have for instance - 105??/Tiagra/Sora??
What wheels?Can I upgrade???0 -
My groupset is a combination of 105 and Ultegra.
My wheels are Fulcrum 5s.
The Allez Frame needs to go!
Yet I cant seem to find a decent frame to choose from.
Cant help thinking Canondale have made one big mistake.
I am sure the Caad10 is good but it still is yet to be proven.0 -
what size is your allez by the way?
I'm looking for a frame for my winter bike - needing one similar to my roubaix - which the allez fits the bill perfectly0 -
My Allez is a 52cm.
Anyone have any suitable frames for sale?
Caad9, Tarmac, Kuota etc...0 -
I have a caad9 2010 in immaculate condition for sale it currently is a whole bike but if you need just the frame i could sort it out for you0

Does that mean it's prone to cracking?0
