Using cyclocross forks for V-brakes

I purchased a set of carbon cyclocross forks but the steerer tube is too short for my main bike. I might be able to return them, but if not, my thoughts have turned to using them to replace the stock aluminium forks on my Specialized Sirrus. Can I use cyclocross forks for V-brakes without modification?

I don't see why not, I have converted a number of old MTB's from canti to V without any issues, you of course really need levers with the right pull ratio or you'll never get any decent braking!

Thanks. Unfortunately steerer tube was too short, so onto ebay they go. I'll bear it in mind as a nice upgrade for the future.
