i hate when people on good bikes are too slow, they should trade with the people who deserve the bikes as they can ride them better.
  • The horror, what will we do when they get all the gear and have an idea!?!?!?

Luckily no-one here is any sort of position of authority. If they were we'd have means testing and ability testing, with the bike police deciding what you are allowed to buy and ride.....

It's been proven that the level of skill with which a rider can perform on his/her on bike is inversely proportional to the cost of the bike and it's suitability for the terrain it's being ridden on.

I myself have noticed my riding deteriorate rapidly as I've spent silly amounts of money on upgrading my bike.

Generally, more upgrades you make the less you are connected to reality of your bike. Why the hell make so many and as often upgrades while the real upgrade is the rider? Upgrade the bike to the style of your riding, and no fuffing about with pimpy bling thingy. Yes.

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though

I'll volunteer to be the rider that people are upgraded to.

I just don't get some people, one thread moaning how there are poor riders on bikes better than their own, then this one when theres a moan about people on crappy bikes being possessed with god-like riding abilities. Has the biking world gone completely mad ?!?!
  • No. But it has always been ironic.

  • Ha! forgot about this...

Sorry Mr Jones, posted after a particularly large skinful on Sunday. Your name just kind of caught in the imagination a bit and it kind of wrote itself!

apologies, no offense meant. having a laff indeed.

being not a very well asjusted individual i find the need to amuse myself in odd ways. I also sing every action i do to myself...you should try it, it helps pass the time. (especially on climbs)

    bye now!

Personally, it really annoys me when I see expert level/pro riders on the same trails as me, I think they should go somewhere more appropriate, somewhere more suited to the kind of riding they do, rather than having a detrimental effect on my ride.

It's all good, and with regards to the singing of every action i just do a live commentary of everything that i'm doing on my bike, just to make me feel like a pro but end up looking a professional tit
