Is Seatpost setback same as offset?

My straight looking Ritchey Comp seatpost apparently has a 25mm offset, due to slight bend at clamp.
A Thomson Elite 16mm setback/layback visually appears to have much more pronounced angle than my Ritchey 25mm offset, or is this a optical illusion?
Kind regards, Graham

It's all the same, just achieved different ways, it's also known as layback.
Most posts have the tube straight at the head offset, whilst some, notably Thomson, just bend the tube to achieve the same thing.0 -
The Thomson posts are a bit of an optical illiusion, due to the in line clamp at the top of the bend post.0
