I thought that seemed bloody heavy!
14g is referring to the gauge of the steel I think.More problems but still living....0 -

My RS80's are coming today!
Merlin have run out of stock so ordered them from absolute cycles via ebay for the same price and next day delivery. The guy mentioned (after I'd bought them, I should add) that they have a few sets left which will be sold at the current price of £314 but when new stock comes in the price will be going up. Just mentioning this if anyone is thinking of buying a set..

Jut get the RS80s and be done with it
I have a pair of EA90 SLXs and I've had no end of problems.....I'd steer clear of these. I've done a fair bit of research (internet and calling round shops etc); so I know that I'm one of many....bearings disintegrated; flex when under load; preload adjuster loosening.
Mine are scheduled to go back to the manufacturer for inspection. I have to say though that Easton's technical support and customer service have been pretty good so far.Where\'s me jumper?0 -

@ Macondo01
Great price for some very tempting wheels. And just in time for the weekend!
I'd be very interested to hear your views on the wheels (and Absolute-Cycles) once you've had the chance to try them out.0 -

Can say that absolute cycles were very helpful yesterday. There was a problem with the internet at work and I just managed to get the order through at 4pm while the courier was there. They still managed, and were bothered enough, to complete the order and package it off for today's delivery. I spoke to Justin there a few times and he was extremely helpful.
Will post back about the wheels. Very excited..

As you should be. Aside from my freehub problem they are fantastic.
Mine are attached to my carbon Lemond, which has always been nice, floaty and comfy, though still direct.
My experience was that the original Bonty wheels were ok, the replacement Mavics were great. But there was still some harshness.
Not anymore, you can cycle over any surface with RS80's and experience a magic ride. In fact I wonder whether they're the best carbon bit at all. I might chuck them on my alu bike next week to see how they go together. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Rode them today. I am very very pleased with them. I had such a big grin on my face today! I'll write some more later about my impressions. Thanks to everyone, esp NapD, who encouraged me to buy them!.

I ride a pair of RS80's also.
In comparison to a pair of RS10's I also use I am obviously pleased with the weight loss BUT the rear wheel does not spin anything like as freely as the RS10 rear.
I have backed off the non drive side cone to give slight play when out of the frame but the wheel still stops spinning a lot sooner than the cheaper wheel. Also the same wheel went out of true after the first ride. So I am not as enamoured with them as I would like.0 -
Thanks guys!
Sturmey are the bearing too tight?.
