Was planning to go for a ride tomorrow but I went over the bars in spectacular fashion on the way home from work (due to some collapsed roadworks hidden under some water! ) and I'm pretty sore. I'll have to make do with a curry and the pub instead.

It sounds gay, but its a converted pub, warehouse and sometimes a marqueed street that plays different music nights, tommorrow is a street party night with techo, hard house drum and bass etc playing.

Its very similar to the Custard factory which is a bit more well known

thats one of those classic mtb lessons i learned early on, the hard way, via a drainage ditch.

always loft the front wheel and never trust a puddle you cant see the bottom of.

I did loft the front wheel, mainly to avoid spray as I presumed the steel plate I rode over on the way into work would still be there on my way home, but when it came back down there was a 4" kerb where the steel plate had dropped! (I was travelling left to right, the barriers were put there after I reported it)

The site manager (it's an M&S carpark undergoing a lot of work at the moment) is going to ring me on Monday to discuss it as he wasn't on site tonight, I'll take it from there. If nothing else there is also damage to my handlebars, stem and my helmet.

Awakened from 12-hour crashed out dead-to-the-world slumber. Sore all over. Unsure if Sheepsteeth has been round. Should i be putting a notch on the bedpost?
