Bala, Wales
Hi,
I am spending two nights in October in Bala (LL23 7UB) with the Mrs. I have a two hour window of opportunity to sneak out for a ride whilst she does what ever she does from waking up to walking down to breakfast!
A near by trail centre would be ideal for navigation but a steady natural trail would be equally cool.
Any ideas or thoughts?
many thanks in advance

I'd guess you are about 25 mile from Coed y Brenin to the south and Betws y coed a little further away to the north for the Marin Trail.0

Thanks, Yeah its a bit frustrating as they are so close but yet so far as I have a limited time frame.

The new black section at Llandegla is worth doing, but you'll have to do the first part of the black to get to it. Instead of following the switchback at post 200, just carry on and enjoy. Otherwise, go to Llandrillo (approx. 10mmins from Bala) carry on through the village on your bike until you see Hendwr caravan site (1ml) and turn right at the post box opposite, up the lane and bear left when it flattens. This will take you on the forest road to the gate and onto the wayfarer track (check google earth). You can carry on to the memorial stone then double back, but carry straight on the double track which will take you nicely back to Llandrillo, all in about 2 hrs.0

yeh I would go Coed it's about 20-25 minutes with a heavy Toe from Bala.
Then jump on the Tawr rip round in 1.30 and then pile back.0 -
I'd expect a foreigner to get it wrong, but you're from newport
It's "Tarw" - meaning "Bull", because it's mostly the old red bull route.0 -
