How does a cycle ride along the beautiful Kent coast sound? Then why not join the South-East Essex Member Group of the Cyclist's Touring Club (CTC) on the scenic 'Viking Trail' this Sunday (3rd October)! This route - 35 to 40 miles - takes in all manner of breathtaking scenery and places of interest, including Bleak House (of Dickens' fame), the 'Hugin' Viking long-boat in Ramsgate (from which the ride's name is taken) and Reculver Castle. We'll meet at Birchington (CT7 9RA) around 9.30 at the cafe on the left in Station Rd, ('Le Cafe Creme'). After breakfasting, we'll follow the road to Minnis Bay, park up at the end of the seafront (CT7 9QP), unload and then set off. During the day, there will be a coffee break and lunch-stop. Everyone welcome - we're a friendly crowd! Further details: John Steer, 01702 309958, e-mail jonsue@blueyonder.co.uk Our website is: www.essexcycling.co.uk/southeastgroup/index.php
