Receiving newsletters when not subscribed

Hi.
You sent me an email newsletter today which peed me off mightily because you gave away the Worlds Men's TT result in the subject line - THANKS A LOT GUYS - ever heard of spoilers?
Actually, that's not what this post is about (I've already whinged about that here).
What I want to know is - how come I'm getting the newsletter in the first place? I went to unsubscribe from it in disgust and discovered that I am already unsubscribed!
