What are you all up to tonight, am back to work tomorrow. Mums been very ill so had to take two days off work to look after her (elderly you see) so will probably get the silent treatment tomorrow. But family comes first in my eyes....
Apart from fretting about that, shall be dossing in from of the box methinks. Still at mums but sky is on hand - simply HAVE to go back into tomorrow.
ION: Just ordered the entire Sopranos series on DVD to watch the weekend

Sounds ominous Kitty - hope everything works itself out.....0 -
Took my old car to the scrapyard today. Sad to say goodbye to an old mechanical friend.
I've got some bacon in the grill, and I'm planning on a night ride after some bacon butties.0 -

quality, you can't beat a good disowning0 -
Tonight i am planning my two weeks off. Trying to save some monies as we're saving to buy a house. So, no bike related purchases for a while it seems
Planning some nice long rides starting from home, trying to be off road as much as possible, and including a pint at a pub I've never been to before. Should be a good 2 weeks!0 -
ooo night ride working on my light options now..
Just pulled off my old gear cables to put my shiny new goodridge on, But had to order some more outer, never enough they supply 2M but i need 3M but because of the way it will be cut need to order a further 2 which I've done now woot!0 -
now feel like something to eat, however cannot make my mind up.
I had a nice lunch today and cooked homemade chips, off the bone ham and eggs for dinner, although my mum couldnt get hardly any food down.0 -

Indeed, I'm rather amused by it now. Can't be bothered with hassle and arguing so I give up.0 -

I had to order 3m as well to account for the full length outer... wasnt cheap.0 -

usually a disowning is down to stuff so trivial and myopically insane - so on the trivial-o-meter 1 -10 scale what do you give this one?0 -

+1 on that Adam
Just packed for my trip tomorrow. Embarking on a 9000KM+ flight to attend a party, quality. Two and a half weeks in the sunshine of which some time will be spent at the holiday house on the lake jetskiing and bass fishing, without getting a hook stuck in my face like I did in January.
Kitty what are you doing in your grandfather's disowned PJs?0 -
Still should be silky smooth on install
And I have curry too kitty nice madrass!0 -

Yup...
But, it's not as bad as it sounds - you need to understand the Civil Service (and I'd just like to point out that I was forced to become a Civil Servant due to a hostile take over, rather through choice!). Basically, with 23 years pensionable service, I'm too expensive to get rid of, so although I don't actually have a role, I still have a job :? The important thing is that I'm still going to be paid - good news for the mortgate and my weight weenie addiction...
Bad bit for me, is that the team I've built up over the years will be disbanded. I'm currently trawling through the new structure trying to find suitable roles for them. I've got two very specialised team members who are going to struggle to find anything.
However the really bad news is that to console myself, I decided to order some uber-pimptastic wheels this evening and the rims I wanted weren't in stock, so I've had to go with an alternative.0 -
Finished work about an hour ago, now tired.
Edit: I've also just completed the sale of my D2D entry. Which is both good and bad...0 -
good to hear someone putting family before job. tho hope your boss understands.
well im picking what xc shoes to buy and then hopefully figure out what to do about my order of the m985 pedals with crc which wont be in stock until 02/11/10 oh
hoping to do a spinning class next week. they dont play rave music for it, do they?0 -

I've just put forward my changes for October 20th not good. it's a bit of a Sparticus moment. I've got to squeeze 5 into 2.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.
Who are you calling inbred?0 -

That sucks El Cap, especially regarding your team, good for you that you still have a job to go back to. Things go well for a while then go to pot, story of my life...... hoepfully you can 're house' them.... ?
I have had some ilness this year, and also some personal shite going on, hence why Im not on here that much at the moment, as a result I have had too much time off work, I am normally a safe pair of hands, so I dont want to get a rep for being unreliable. Just things always happen at once, have just emailed the boss to say Ill be back in tomorrow. I mailed her yesterday early am and left VM this morning early am, so she was always kept in the loop, and I have pretty much been running around looking after mum since the weekend, as I said, family comes first to me, only got one mum. Hopefully the powers that be shall understand, as I cant afford to lose my job either.....
So tell me El Cap... what wheels???0 -

.
Sounds wiggety wack, I had similar with my Nan the weekend, apparently I answered the phone to her a fortnight ago and then just put the phone down on her. Not only did I not put the phone down on her, she didn't phone me at all. Couple that with the week before I phoned her to say that I was going round then didn't show up, which oddly means that the chimney breast must have wallpapered itself. I hope it sorts itself out though Ms Kitty0 -
And El cap, glad to see you are still an employed man, but I understand how you feel about your team too, i hope things work out for them0

The Big Cheese wrote:So tell me El Cap... what wheels???
American Classic Hubs - black, CX-ray spokes - black, alloy polyax nipples - black and ZTR Crest Rims - black. I wanted the Alpine's but delivery would have been a while.
Should weigh in at around 1340g of awesomeness for the pair.
(obviously these will be the NRS's race wheels)0 -

Both Mleh and Yay for you then Stu.
My Dad usually has a couple of very specialised engineers work for him. He's spent a good few years training them and he's had to let one/both of them go. Which is a pain, since it just seems a 'bottom line' kinda maneuver from the company... When the manpower's needed again, they'll have to employ two (or more) people at a higher rate then invest a good few years in training them.
Ah, business. Doesn't it just make so much sense?
Oooh, I just thought though... Since you have no role, maybe you can whittle one out for yourself that involves more Italians, more carbon and more biking? Also, more bacon!0 -
Sorry to hear about you guys having a hard time of things.0
