Righto, forgot top put these up, but she is finished, need to do some fine tuning on the gears but OK for now, have not taken her out on maiden voyage yet as had some shite going on at home.

Hope you like her, shes really nice and shiny, and the size is perfect.

Heavier than I anticipated, at around 34lb.

very, very nice.... but youv ended up with something even heavyer than the BFE with the added drag of suspention and stuff.... its gonna be a beast up hill... and i thought the point of this is that you can pedal up the hills, not just blast down... like on the BFe....

so when you sell it (next month) give me a PM as i may well be interested.

Its actually a fair bit lighter than the BFe which was well into the 37lb+ bracket.

Im assuming this is 34lb, probably lighter as a lot of the kit on there is light, noticeably the wheels, however, certain choices bumped the weight up (forks and cranks)

I just cannot be arsed to sell another bike (unless I HAD to) and shall get some use out of this one, so don't get any ideas.. ;)

And I am looking forward to the weekend when I can get this out

the combined weight of the solar system is lighter than that fucker
  • looks good. matches up nice , good spec and whatnot

Cheers - really pleased with it and it's actually better in the flesh - very pimp.... Saturday morning hoping to get out on it for a few hours early hours of the morning, when there are no lttle oiks around or chavs with pitbulls...

Yep, gearing needs fettling with, got the usual problems however, I absolutely am over the moon with the SLX double-specific front mech, didnt have to feck around with it AT ALL..... bolted straight on and job done
  • Nice, very nice. Although in the first pic, your chain looks rusty!

Ha ha - thats what you get for getting a gold chain!!!

milo, they are great, have them on the marin as well, low profile, very light (the Ti axled ones on the Marin are anyway) :)

How would those pedals compare to DMR V12's, for grippyness and weight?

My grubs on v12's are starting to wear and the beatings gritty.

I find them grippier than V12s, and with a wider platform for my large plates - great pedals for the monies ;)

Ive had pro IIs on a few bikes, you do get used to the ratchet-tatatatata of them.

Thanks, it's a lovely build. I find the smaller frame (16") really comfy, more so than all the other 17.5" I have had before on full sussers...!!! :)
