Yeah - All Cool - Hope you can come down. I take it we'll all just be near the gate (not far away from the Go Ape place) at about 12

Starting to look like a good turnout!

TBH - I Can't wait to see the guys who are Virgins on specific trails, sure they'll love them

Not far off now, but still time

Though if I go by UK release dates I get myself an extra year :D (or re-releases and I'm still a kid!).

Grey hair gives it away, but then I've had that since my 20s!

    I gave up counting though.

Some discussion on this thread over what's called what

    http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... 9&start=20

? - maybe or maybe not Babymaker. Looks like it's #5 that goes off to the right from that track. #1 to #4 can all link up with Labyrinth too which makes for a nice run.

Can't miss Go Ape. It's where the zip wire stuff through the trees is. There's a big gate next to it where one of the big forest paths heads off.

Alternate start point from the car park (and usually far less busy with kids and pushchairs) is the other direction past the lookout building, past the bike hut and head left. You can head up from there, up the hill and intercept the Whole Nine Yards or whatever it's called at that point (the long one that runs from the gully allmost all the way to corkscrew).
  • Yeah - either is fine - I guess meet around Go Ape/Look Out Entrance and then disapeer off the alternative route. Whatever is easiest with everyone

Oh - & I'll be there until about 4/5 ish I would of thought, So I'll probably take some lunch and/or the usual snacks!

  • So from the carpark where the bike hire place is, where do I head for the go ape bit where everyone is meeting? I thaught that was the lookout?! n00b!!

Everything is all within the car park area basically. There's a big building which is The Lookout Discovery Centre (and not the entire forest as some people seem to think it's called :D). To the right of the Lookout building is the bike hut place. On the left side of the car park as you come in the entrance is a boundary fence of the car park and Go Ape is right there.

Easy to see as there's a big sign saying "Go Ape", a hut and usually lots of people hanging around it waiting to have a go on the rope & zip wire stuff.

Mid day it's going to be busy in the car park though, so really just have to find whatever spot you can find and try and meet up. Go Ape gate sounds easy enough.

You can get a permit online also. Not sure if they post a day permit or you print it out, and how long it takes to post.

Or get an annual one if you think you'll ride there enough.

    http://www.gorrick.com/swinley/permits.php

Only just noticed if you click through it says you only need one if you're over 16 (something for thel33ter to note).

Not that everyone bothers with them anyway ;).
  • Put Torgey down as a defo. I need a permit but aim to be there for about 11:45ish.
I`m trying to build a visual profile of you all so as i don`t walk right passed. LOL.
See you all at GO APE....

nope mate, it's all exactly as standard, they are the giant lock ons that came with it from the LBS

I've only had it since June and it's on my work ride2work scheme so I haven't changed or modded anything and won't until I buy it back.

although before you ask, no, I do not ride it to work and back, it's far too nice for that
