I have a Garmin Edge 705. Just done a 3-day event and I can see that the device has downloaded all the info to my Garmin site because it has toal miles, hours etc. But the map that is downloaded does not show all of the route.
Does anyone know why and how to correct it?
Thanks

I'd try to upload it to www.ridewithgps.com and see if it does the same thing.
Are the distances/times correct on the device?0 -
How many hours of activities were recorded and did you use Smart Recording or Every Second? Do you have lots of waypoints and routes saved?
The Garmin 705 has a limited (but quite large 0.5GB or 1GB dependent on age) internal memory and will overwrite the oldest data first. Detailed track data is deleted first and the summaries are kept. I'm surprised that it started overwriting after 3 days though. Even with a HRM, Cadence Sensor and Power Tap my file sizes are about 1.5MB/hour with 'Every Second' recording.0 -
Not sure about the waypoints, but everything else is recorded except for the mapping. I have three laps, with average speed, distance, etc. just no map.:

The full ride was from Bristol to Land's End but it seems to have just mapped half of day 2, and all of the day 3.
Thanks for the suggestions0 -
by waypoints I don't mean the track points that are recorded during the ride, I mean saved user defined waypoints on your Garmin.
Look in Menu -> Where To? -> Find Places ->Favorites -> My Favorites. If this is full of waypoints then that is using up memory. Also Workouts and Courses under Training are also using memory.
Saying all that though it looks like you did the whole 3 days as 1 activity with three (auto generated) splits rather than resetting the clock at the start of each day which would have created three activity files and I can't help feeling that may have something to do with it, although can't say exactly why. Maybe there is a limit on the size of a single activity?

GPS problems aside, how was the ride?0 -
The ride was a blast-about 250 miles in total (Garmin seems to have missed a few, but my Cateye is more accurate), on a charity ride from Bristol to LE for local hospital charity.
A great route, taking mainly smaller lanes across Exmoor, skirting Dartmoor, then down through Cornwall. Lucky with the weather too, hardly any rain, and kindish wind,0
