On the hub front, if you decide to replace the wheels get the new pro2 evo hubs from hope. Should solve the maxle issue.
Sweet build, love the revs.0 -

Yep, that's the plan.0 -
I've now converted to a single front chainring. The weight is down to 26lb 4oz.
I have a couple more changes to make, that will see it into the 25's.
I think that'll do.0 -
FYI 2011 5s don't use the waisted Maxle anymore.

Nice Build!0 -
I've got the Pro II Evo hubs fitted now, so I guess that issue is solved either way.0

pics of new stuff needed 8) this is genuienly the first 5 ive ever liked the look of, and 26lbs is chuffing light for a 5  my HD with a joplin and a double chainset is 27.7lbs atm, got a full spec of the 5??0

No worries there then.
What was wrong with the Flow rims was it just a weight thing?
I was thinking about getting a set of Flows/Evos to replace my EN321/Pro11s :?0 -
Dirtydog, yes it was just the weight. I wanted the new Hope hubs, so I thought I might as well save a bit of weight as well.. The Flows are a fine set of wheels.
Lawman, the spec is on the first post. There are quite a few compromises to get to that weight, but they're all fine for me. I might get the camera out tomorrow.0 -
If it had been the end of July I would have, I couldn't make you a reasonable offer at this moment in time, if you've still got them in a few weeks......0

As promised, eventually, some pictures of the latest updates.0

dare i say it again, but that is the nicest looking five ive seen, and that is a bloody good weight, for a tough but light spec too, i can now see why its lighter than my mojo just losing the joplin and switching to a single ring would drop it under 25lbs ... having said that i cant praise dropper posts enough, possibly the best thing of recent years0

Love it......0

Maybe, but it's not 25lb, it's almost 26lb and it depends on the rest of the kit you have bolted to your carbon frame. It's not easy or cheap to get a Five down to that weight, but it can be done.
It was just a project, I like the Five, but I wouldn't recommend starting with that frame if weight was a big issue.0 -
I bumped into a friend of mine, and he had a Saint derailleur fitted to his bike. I thought it looked the 'nads, so I got one for the Orange. It works really well and looks like it was made for the 5.
I've added a couple of pictures.

Yes, that is the right way round. I know this because I took notice of the little arrows on the rotor. :?
They've gone now anyway, victims of my weight saving fetish.0 -
