    I'm 189cm a.k.a 6'2" and a bit.

edit: see undernoted post from the engineer Cy Turner.

... However, just to throw my hat in the ring, I'm 6ft 3in with a 36.5" inseam and run an 80mm stem with 710mm wide bars and a 400mm seatpost with 20mm of layback. When I ran narrower bars and did more woodsy singletrack I used a 90mm stem. Your hands get closer to you as they get wider apart, so you tend to need shorter stems with wider bars.

I designed it to be the smallest frame I could get away with, basically.

Ah right, I'm 6ft4 and ride a large BFe, it must be the angle making it look longer than it is? Again, v nice bike though!
  • The saddle height (having been officially measured up) on my road bike is 84cm from the bb. I have the Soul 1-2cm lower at the mo', which amongst other things (such as better crotch clearance) gives me a solid 11-12cm insertion (oo er missus) on my 41cm post.

I was conscious that this seatpost would be getting a tougher time, hence pushing the boat out on the Thomson.
  • Nice bike fella!

(needs more colour co-ordination!!! blue hub, headset and spacers up front and black seat clamp, jockeywheels etc! Change them blue!! and some blue superstar grips!!- sorry, Bike tart in me cant resist!)
    Timmo.

    I agree with this

    Nice bike, I'm jealous
  • I also agree with the above colour options :P go 4 it :)
  • ok, ok. I was hoping to retain a modicum of good taste, but it's not to be! So where do I get jockey wheels (pref orange) for sensible money?
  • they dont do orange, but red, blue, gold, black and silver,
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

same for most the blingy kit! (hence the blue idea!! )
some nice subtle blue bite to follow the hubs headset+ spacers would look the nuts!
seat clamp, chainring bolts, jockey wheels, (even jockey wheel bolts if your really mad for it!!!) would look the nuts!!! (see mine in my sig for disco bikeness!!!)
    Timmo.

    A few modifications;

    1. The layback Thomson seatpost has been replaced for an inline version.
    2. The Cotic chainstay protector arrived, so the Spesh one is back in the spare parts box.
    3. The mid-rise Race Face Evolve bars have been replaced with slightly wider hi-rise Easton EC70 Monkey Bars.
    4. The Ergo grips gave me pins &needles, so have been replaced with Race Face Strafe's, in blue, especially for AtG!

And one inadvertant modification, the headtube badge unstuck itself until it was hanging by a corner, so I removed it before it fell off!

Colour coding is a necessity! still think a blue seat clamp is needed and some blue jockey wheels!8)

Have just put some wider bars on mine, much nicer still now!! 8)
