Avid Elixir New Pads Rubbing

Hi,
I fitted some new pads last night to my Boardman pro. But the pads are dragging on the rotors so badly the wheels wont freely rotate.
I pushed the pistons in with a screwdriver before pushing in the pads but somethings not right!
I did use Clarks pads instead the Avid ones as they only cost £5.99 instead of £20 for the Avids. I'm thinking now cheaper isnt necessarily better!
Jake.

I like a tyre iron for this job.Whenever I see an adult on a bicycle, I believe in the future of the human race.
