My First Build, Specialized Rockhopper

My first ever build, my old bike was to small and falling to bits so after much consideration I decided I'd build one to save money rather than buy a built bike. Been on a tight budget as I'm a humble student :P But so far I'm really happy with the results, I'm looking at adding some red to the bike and replacing the stem for a white fsa one, Should look good overall, but for now here's how it looks now.
Frame: Specialized Rockhopper (£30 off ebay  )
Forks: Mazzochi rlo 22
Bars: spank lounge bars
Stem: specialized
Brakes: avid bb7
Wheels: Shimano speed discs.
Overall really happy with my set up so far, got a few small changes to make it look nicer Money really burns a hole in my pocket since I started this project. Every thing I'm loving, Only thing I'd change are the forks, but for £100 discounted They not going to be brill And avid bb7's Are brilliant! Hope you all like my first build

looks good.
Take a look at the white Pro FSR stems as well. 50 or 70mm for £20 if you shop around.0 -
That's exactly the one I'm looking at Buying it next week0

Nothing wrong with cheap Bombers, they're bouncy and last forever.
Why do you have a bigger disc on the back than the front though? And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

When it came down to it I thought it'd work, I can't have the bigger on the front, Mazzochi recommend 180's at biggest for front. Sort of thought it'd improve the brakes a lot, I've never had a problem with my back wheel locking up so so far its going well.0

Just won a nice Truvativ RockGuard off ebay, managed to pick it up for less than a tenner. Should look nice, fingers crosed, next thing on the list is this
Just need to find nice Stem to go with my handle bars and possibly a white headset what you think?0 -
heree we go, got my bash and all set up, and new bar grips Got a bottle holder coming on way and some red spacers and headset cap, just to add a bit more colour Also got my eye on a carbon stem so if it goes cheap I'll be in luck
I couldn't wait till tomorrow to take photos so dark ones will do.0 -
Looks great, did the build cost alot less than a new complete bike?0

It's cost me between £450-500 all together and it's a great set up for me0

That's a nice spesh! Had a look at the 2011 rockhopper when I got my hardrock.. Have to say I was extremely tempted to break the bank but nevermind!
Lovely bike mate, should meet up for some riding been looking for other riders in Nottingham for a while!0 -

Lol, you actually have a dinner plate for a bashguard!
How do you find the spank lounge bars, I love them but wish they were a bit lighter.0 -

Sounds good man
I like the spank bars look nice, but they scratch so easy
and the rear wheels not locked out at all I barely use it though really, use my front alot :P I thought it'd look cool having a satellite on the back wheel xD0 -
Oh and dinner plate!! If i could eat off it i probs would :P:P0
