    The Porte case is interesting because his agent is stirring, "tapping up" as they call it in football, or "tampering" in the US.

    Porte only wants to go because his agent stirs him up, he's been happy with Saxo. The same happened with Ben Swift last year. Porte is young and can expect a big contract in due course, plus side deals and appearance money will make him pretty wealthy already.

    Saxo and Riis took a risk in signing him, despite a big talent he was almost bound for ISD-Neri, which would have meant no Giro and chance are we'd not have heard of him.
