    Many thanks,

Road bike - drop handlebars, compromise between comfort and speed.
Triathlon - aerodynamic position, bit like a time trial bike.
Track - depends on the discipline. No brakes or gears.
  • I thought that tri bikes were also designed to put you in such a position that you used muscles that weren't used so much in running to spread the strain over different parts of the leg... Or something like that?

Yeah, that's the basic difference between a TT and a triathlon bike.

Had no idea this was the case. Interesting. Anyone care to explain a little more fully. Which muscles etc.
