build a bike?

hi guys
ive been snooping around for a while on here, bought a hybrid to get to work on, and want a road bike (boardman i reckon). also want to know the in's and out's of bikes so was thinking.......

is it worth buying a new or second hand one?

or

buy a boardman frame on ebay, and build it up so i understand the bike? would this cost more than just buying new?

Building it yourself will cost considerably more, I totalled up the £1400 Focus and was already at £1200, and still had the carbon frame, forks to add to the build. :shock:
