Bar ends - fit any size handlebar?

Hi all

As you may or may not know, I am converting a 20-year old Kona mountain bike into a road bike to take me to and from uni. I would like to get some bar ends to allow me a different hand position, but after looking online I can't tell what diameter bars they fit.

The internal diameter of the Kona bars is 20mm, with the external diameter about 22mm. Does anyone know if 'modern' bar ends will fit this bar? And can anyone recommend any good ones? Nothing too expensive - something around £10 - 20 ideally.

Cheer! :D

Whereas bar clamp diameters have changed over the years the diameter of the bars for the controls has stayed at 22.2mm over the years.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
