roadie (ish) turned MTB again. Fancied spuds but after much research including MBR's October edition Im leaning towards flats now. Whats the general opinion? Also could anyone recommend some good shoes to wear with flats?
Sorry for the sticky!

5.10 shoes, mg-1 or superstar pedals.
Personally I use merrells over 5.10's because I like the fit more and the gore-tex ones are lovely.0 -
For easy to medium graded MTB routes I go with SPD. Tight, steep downhills I'd go for flat V12 and an old pair of excellent mountain walking trainers.
But 95% are SPD rides as I feel I can power my way round without having to shift my feet.CAAD9

Blimey that was fast! Spooky as I was just looking at MG1's, found some for a bargain price of £29.95:

Five Tens are sounding like the only shoes to have!
Which Merrells do you use?
Thanks for the quick reply!
Sound like I need to get used to flats and get my riding up to scratch before trying SPD then?Orange Crush 2010. Better than the 2011. And 2009.0 -
