Attn: Commuters - User Research Needed for Studnet Project

Hello. I am a MFA student at Purdue University where I am looking to
compete in the International Bicycle Design Competition. My idea is
simple: Create total student commuter bicycle. As of now, my interest
lie with the concepts of how and what we carry to class. Are we
restricted and how can we benefit.
The survey length is only 13 questions, ranging from multiple choice
to short answer, this should only take about 7-10 min of your time.
From here, I plan to use all of the data to create design criteria for
me to build my concept off of. *None of this is intended for profit,
purely for design. Essentially, the results that I receive from YOU,
impacts the overall DESIGN.
If I receive enough feedback I would love to post some of my design
concepts when it is further developed later on in the semester. I
could then use more of your feedback at that point.
User research is extremely VALUABLE.

Thank you.

EPIC FAILs
First Q and I can only pick one bike, you also need to improve your descriptions, 'racing' is more properly called 'road' and what do I put a flat barred road based hybrid in and in terms of design a road based MTB hybrid is very different to that bike.
You assume bikes are bought new, no option for used, no option for build your own.
"How do you use your bicycle other then to and from class? " Assumption of class not work, 'then' rather than 'than'.
Sorry, not really a well thought out survey I'm afraid.

Rather unfair given the introduction......Create total student commuter bicycle. As of now, my interest
lie with the concepts of how and what we carry to class. Are we
restricted and how can we benefit. He that buys land buys many stones.
He that buys flesh buys many bones.
He that buys eggs buys many shells,
But he that buys good beer buys nothing else.

I'd like to see your concepts and stuff. I'm doing a masters degree in bicycle design myself0
