TT bike sizing

Hello all

I just wondered if anyone could give some advice on what to look for when it comes to TT bike sizing.

I went to a local shop today that stocks Bianchi and I had the pleasure of checking out their aluminium-framed D2, 55cm. Now my Van Nicholas is a 56 and the seat tube comes up far higher than it did on the Bianchi - I'd have sworn blind that the TT bike was actually a 53 at most. It all felt very "far away" from what I'm used to.

Then I had the seatpost lowered and sat on the bike and it felt like I was falling forward! Is this perfectly normal on a TT bike or could it be that the Bianchi's TT bars are shaped in this way whereas the recently reviewed Fuji Aloha is more forgiving? (I'm referring to the Aloha 2.0 here, Evans have both 2010 and 2011 models showing on their website).

Will I get the same "shock feeling" on any TT bike or was the Bianchi just exceptionally small and extremely low in terms of tri-bar positioning? I do like the look of all the Fuji Aloha bikes mind you..............
