yup, could well be right, good result tonight against Chelsea's 3rd string, and considering along with Chelsea, many other top teams - Tottenham,Man city, Liverpool, Everton, SUNDERLAND - are out of the competition, there is no reason why the 'toon' can't go all the way ( providing they avoid Northampton)

To be fair, Sunderland never stood a chance against the all conquering West Ham.

As a West Ham fan myself, I thought us winning was bigger upset than Brentford and Northampton beating the Scousers.

Still smarting from the defeat at the hands of the mighty Cobblers in '98 then?

It has all become tactical. The teams on the hunt for a yellow jersey are quite happy to concede sprint points, KOM titles and stage wins to the domestiques.

As a Gooner, I can only assume that we are still in the competition because Wenger needs a stage win to satisfy the sponsors or perhaps he thought it would be good idea to humiliate the upstart neighbours by leaving them for dead in front of their partisan fans on the Col de Extra Time. :D

Thought it was due to him finally realising that you have no chance of winning anything else that he went back on his long time policy of sending the kids out?

Im not very bitter, after all, at least we lost to another premiership side :P

You can only lose to what's put in front of you.

    Ian Sampson's Barmy Army :D:D:D:D

For us this is like winning the Milan San Remo - unfortunately we seem to be struggling in the ToB at the same time and that's what we really want to win. Still, there is hopes of another money spinning away draw in the next round and potentially TV money so we can sign some extra players in Jan.

Oh, and just in case any Liverpool fans want to blame it on the younger players I'd like to point out that our side is build on youth. Our 2nd goalscorer who also scored a pen in front of the Kop only graduated from the youth team last season and our wide man substitute was playing part time a year ago until Sammo bought him from Long Bucky.

As a West Ham fan, I would trade a Micky Mouse Cup trophy for a couple of league points

just to point out it was actually Brentford who beat the scousers. liverpool folk are a dying minority at fannyfield these days - its usually populated with irish, norwegians and souths.

If you want to see woefully inept you should come to a league 2 game someday

It's all a matter of your reference point I guess. Last Sat we lost 3-1 to Shrewsbury and were a bit disappointed, you lost 3-2 to Man Utd and were gutted.

Our boys played much better than usual, your boys played a lot worse than you're used to and that tipped the balance in our favour - I'm happy to accept that and enjoy the moment. If Gerrard etc. had been on the pitch I'd have been happy with a 3-0 defeat.
