i'm hopefully gonna do it this year, regardless of how hard it is, altho looking at route map it doesn't seem to be to hard, you cycle down park rash instead of STRUGGLING up it. :D
looking at last years registered times they are mostly around the 5 hour mark so probably a bit of effort needed, but doubt it's as hard as any other rides in that area.
  • I did it last year - was my first ever sportive and did it in about 4:45.

The route has 3 big climbs, but it's not crazy hard. Last year lots of people didn't turn up due to the weather forecast but other than a strong outward headwind it really wasn't too bad. There was an excellent post ride meal too.

Sent my application form off a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything since, so hope it's still on
  • thanks for replys, going to give it a go,
good luck for the event this year.
    steve.
  • See you there.

    Good luck.

Another cracking event yesterday, even the weather was better than we feared! Near enough 400 on the start line of a tough 62 miler with well a well stocked feed station half way and a jacket potato and beans at the end. Cant find better value for £15...
