The best place to buy booze in France.

Me and the housemates are planning a day trip, booze cruise to france. Does anyone know where the best place to buy cheap beer in or near Calais is?

Can't remember the supermarket where we loaded up a few years back, though I've heard Tesco and Sainsburys both have decent size stores in Calais, should be decent value.

  • This is a nice bar. Just ask for it at the local cop shop

  • I don't know exactly where it was but maybe 5 minutes from the ferry port. It was amazing. Like heaven on earth. I was there on a trip with college, and managed to convince the truck drive to let me tuck a bottle of jack daniels that was litterly 20 liters in the bottom of the bus with suitcases so I could get it home. It was cheap too, something like 100 euros for the whole thing as well.
