Hope you guys can help. A quick question for you.
Last night I took my cassette off of my rear wheel as it has 1 bent ring.
While doing this I noticed that the cassette has made small indentations or notches of wear on my freehub.
This wheel and cassette is not that old, is this nomal? There are not massive notches but the cassette clearly has biten into the hub. If this is just normal wear and tear then fair enough, but it seems this has happened pretty quick, I do ride a lot but still wouldn't expect it to happen already.
Hope you know what I mean, I'll try to take a pic tonight maybe

Yes, that is normal. But is a little poor on Hope's part.
Hope suggest that you use top-end cassettes such as XT, XTR, Sram 990 etc.. as they have single piece inner sleve, not sure that's the correct term but you get what I mean.
The groves can get so deep that the cassette needs to be persuaded to come off.
If you are not careful, you can pull the freewheel off with the cassette. Which is a pain but not the end of the world. I know I've done it myself.0 -
Hope also sell a steel freehub body.0
