A colleague of mine who cycles through Greenwich Park on his commute just told me he saw a cyclist down at the park's entrace, ambulances, etc. Anybody have any info on how the cyclist is?

  • I was about ten metres behind a chap on an orange Condor at the gate at the top of Greenwich Park when he was involved in a collision with a small white van. I called an ambulance and other people got the police from the station to give first aid.

He was conscious and talking and nothing appeared to be broken. Couple of bad cuts though and he was in shock. He did show some concern about his bike so hopefully that's a good sign.

I have given all my details to the police and may have to give a formal statement so I probably shouldn't say anything more about causes / fault.

Ride safe everyone - keep your spidey sense switched on.

Must have just missed that - went through at about 7.40am. Hope he's OK.
  • You must have been just in front of us as I called 999 at 7:44am.

I hope he's OK - haven't yet heard from the police.
