HI Guys

I foolishly went out during Sundays 'monsoon', and both my bike and i got completely soaked.

Due to the weather i was not really able to give it the TLC i should have afterwards and just wiped it down and stuck it in the shed. (Wife cast it out !)

I have pulled it out today and have found rust appearing in the drivetrain.

Can this be removed and the drivetrain restored?

I know i should have looked after it a bit better.....!

Thanks,
Jay

Just lube it and ride, chances are it's just a bit of surface rust and will disappear.
Once you've lubed it and spun it a few times check there are no stiff links, if not you'll be fine.
If there are, waggle a bit and check again.

  • Nowt to worry about, it'd take a lot of miss use to cause permanent damage.
