Thinking of buying a 2010 with a £24.00 reduction. As far as I can see the only difference is the fitting system is now RocLoc 5 instead of 4. Is the Rocloc 4 OK?

    Facebook? No. Just say no.
  • I find the Rocloc 4 great on both my 2010 Ionos. From what I've read, the Rocloc 5 is good for making small adjustments on the go with one hand which is a bit more tricky with the 4. However once the helmet is set for the first time, I've never needed to adjust it at all. Think also the 5 is slighly ligher, but wouldn't say the 2010 version is in any way a heavy helmet - it's the most comfortable I've ever worn.

As said I have two, one of which I'm selling if you're interested. Livestong black/yellow version in size medium immaculate condition.

Rocloc 4 is fine on my 2010 Ionos. Keeps it firm on my head anyway.

I want all black thanks. There could be a white medium Catlike Whisper for sale if the Ionos fits.

5 is just a upgraded tensioner, same helmet (more money?). if you are desperate for the latest get 2011 but no boubt old stock 2010 will get marked down further

The 2011 helmet won't help you ride any faster or more comfortably, so buy the 2010 if you can get one for a good price.
  • I'm very happy with my Giro Ionos 2010 helmet and the fit and strap adjustment etc. is perfect in my opinion and I have no hesitation in recommending this helmet.
