My Jacket(Gortex paclite) is no tumble dry so I Iron it on a warm setting instead(its the heat that activates the DWR)I re-proof probably twice a year, but haven't had to so far this year.
Did you make sure you thoroughly cleaned out the washing machine before you started?ANY detergent in there will kill the waterproofing.I usually put the washer on a hot cycle empty and clean out the detergent drawer.

i had washed my gear with non-bio capsule before using the granger,so there shouldnt of been any bio powder in machine, and my jacket and trouser's where in dryer for 50 mins,so im at a complete loss  .....my jacket is>Altura Night Vision Evo ...and trousers are>Altura Night Vision

You're not supposed to use any detergents(bio or non-bio) on Gortex/event etc even non-bio strips the DWR.
Use either pure soap flakes(cheap as chips) or nikwax/grangers cleaner before re-proofing.
I've never used detergent so don't know if the DWR can be reproofed correctly once stripped.

says on my jacket not to use biological,so i 4ought non-bio would be ok??
also says not to tumble dry or iron, but yet the bottle says to tumble dry???
ive emailed grangers and asked for there advice...also had a quick google on washing the altura jacket, sum ppl have used bio and had no problems, some have used non-bio and same,no porblems, and like you said,a few have said to use the flakes.....its a confusing world we live in

Most reproofers tell you to tumble dry or Iron as it needs heat to activate the DWR,but most jackets/manufacturers tell you not to iron/tumble dry.I always iron my Gortex Jackets,my walking Jacket it 12 years old and the bike paclite is now 4 years old and both are still waterproof but the bike one is not as good as it could be but then again they get covered in mud etc.As well as reproofing I sponge mine down and iron every few rides,or when it stops beading water just to to keep the DWR working.
I read in a walking mag a couple of years ago that most jackets need reproofing after 30 hours in the wet. That's walking jackets which aren't getting covered in mud and crap all the time

this really is a git of a topic.

I am just trying to get the waterproofing back on my gore/PTFE Musto jacket.

I don't have a dedicated tumbler though so the machine is a bit crap. Mine does say it can be tumbled though and is 3 layer gore with PTFE. i would check with Altura.

ahh yeah I have tried that before too. Do you have any of the labels still? Or pop into a shop and take a look at the label.

not sure what you mean by labels, but if you mean the labels attached to jacket as in what temp to wash etc, there is no website on them...if you mean the labels attached showing price etc, then nope i dont :?
