Further brake dilema

Hello again,

Being a bit of a bike tech idiot, I need a little more advice about brake setup.

I've just received my Saint M810 to go on an iron Horse sunday team '09. (100mm & 170mm setup)

My current juicy 's have a 6 bolt attachment to the hub. I intend to start the Pearce Race sesaon next year on this bike, therefore what rotors would you recommend?

Is it best to get the 203mm mount and a larger disc on the front... do I have to get saint rotors?

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Thank you!

Clint.

    Are you talking brakes?

If so I think they are center lock (edit rotors as standard on saint) - you will need adaptors to fit them on 6 bolt (Edit hubs)

Saints are regarded as the most powerful - not unless full on downhill you'll not need more than 180/5 rotors.

Any rotor of the correct size should work (edit and 6 bot)

    nope not possible.

use your current rotors for now and see how the brakes are. then loot at upgrading if needed.

also see what size brakes the others are using.

nothing worse than being over braked.

  • Sorry, might want to read it before Submitting
  • And editting - clearly CL rotors won't fit 6 bolt hubs - right that's it for me today...
  • Ok, so I've tried mounting the Saints onto the avid mounts and it looks like a reasonable fit...

New problem however, due to the the way the current Juicy's are guided through the frame and the rear shock, how do I get the caliper off?

The last hydraulics I played with were HS33's and with those you could lock off the lever and then unscrew the hosing to allow for feeding the cable... is this the same with juicy's and saints?

Otherwise the only way I can see to do this is to remove the rear shock....

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
