MTB trails for beginners

I'm looking for trails in the leicestershire or nottinghamshire areas that are appropriate for beginners to Mountain biking, specifically trail riding.

I'm fine on a bike, but have never been on a trail before, so could anyone advise me on some good trails to start on.

    never been but was reccomended sherwood pines as a good starter place

    Thanks Mak3m, I'll give that a go once I get up and running.

    I've also heard the burrough hill in Leicestershire is good for beginners. Any experience with this venue?

    Obviously Rutland water will be a good one as well.

    did rutland the other week, a lot of the route isnt actually on the water itself :?

    nice ride but not particularly challenging

    Yeah, won't find any jumps, but it's a fair size and very scenic. Nice for a leisurely ride or you could race round. I raced round once, probably not adivsable, I was nakered after lol.
