Tights for winter riding

Hi All
As i am happy with my fitness and don't want to slacken off much in the winter and go to waste i am thinking of some decent winter tights.
What ones would you suggest that keep you warm but not where you are roasting after 10 mins on the bike and feel the need to take them off etc.
I want ones that are fairly close to the skin and ones that don't get heavy as lead after 5 mins in the rain.
Budget approx £50 max but could go higher if tights are really really good.
Thanks

Constantly trying to upgrade my parts. It is a long road ahead as things are so expensive for little gain. n+1 is always the principle in my mind.

Some Endura FS260 Pro knee warmers can be worn under your favourite baggies.
3/4 bibshorts are permitted in exceptional circumstances.
Tights are perfectly acceptable. I wouldnt survive winter night rides when its below zero and mechs are freezing up without them.
Anyone who suggests bibs are forbidden is obviously tucked up in front of a warm fire drinking cocoa while the rest of us are skidding round on snow in the moonlight.

I just wear some cheap old ALDI compression leggings under my shorts, I don't think I need any thing more than that - the top half I might have more layers but 2 is enough on the legs I thinkSpecialized Rockhopper Comp 2009.0

Endura windtex bib longs. I use them in all weathers in winter. Water resistant on the front, not too warm, good when getting sweaty (I climb a lot of hills). They are not very stretchy so I find I need XL even though the sizing says I should fit large. My problem is finding something for when it is not really cold but too cold for 3/4 trousers. Any suggestions?

I wear Nike Pro Combats. They are about £35 in most big sports stores.
I also bought some Aldi winter bib leggings last week. I tried them at the weekend and they are very good. Nice chamois and windproof without being too warm.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S

I use endura leg warmers, that way if it gets too warm I can just whip them off and put them in my backpack, I'd use bib tights but they're just too gay for me....0

I got the winter trousers from Aldi and tried them out at the weekend as it was a little bit chilly to start off with, I was bloody boiling by the end! Bring on the snow though...0
