Went for a ride up to the cat n fiddle today decided to try out the over shoes I purchased some 7 months ago and try them out for the first time.

It was windy, raining and we were in a hail storm for a while but my feet were nice and warm and my shoes were dry.

Didn't realize just how good they are, got my feet soaked last winter and freezing cold at times but now I see why I invested in these, even though it has taken so long to give them a road test.

I did find my socks were a bit wet but think that was just sweat but the outside of the shoes were bone dry, suppose it's hard to find an overshoe that doesn't cause your feet to sweat but keep your feet dry and warm. Suppose as the temperature drops the sweat will decrease as well.

are they the water proof type? if so try the wind stopper types too, they keep you nice and warm in cold/dry weather and are not as heavy/bulky as the water proof type - they look good too 8)
  • Without a doubt the best bit of winter/wet weather kit I have bought. I have a thin, waterproof set for when it is raining and a thicker waterproof pair for when it is cold.

According to the washing details, they are 80% Nylon 20% polyerethane, will they be ok when we hit the cold weather or are they just for wet weather?

sounds like they are just for showers really, most rain proof overshoes are made from neoprene or something similar, i would think 80% nylon would be like wearing a mac in a shower.if they keep you dry buy some thicker socks for added warmth.
